What Is AEVRUS?
AEVRUS is a constructed Latin neologism — a new word forged from ancient roots to name something that has never existed before. It fuses aevum (lifetime, age, the full span of human existence) with verus (true, genuine, authentic) into a single word that encodes the platform's thesis: that a medical record should be a truthful, verified account of a human life — from first breath to last — and that this truth should belong to the patient, not the institution.
The Latin roots are deliberate. Medicine traces its intellectual lineage through Latin — every diagnosis, every anatomical structure, every pharmacological compound carries Latin or Greek etymology. AEVRUS speaks the same linguistic register as the science it serves. It is not a brand name bolted onto a product. It is a declaration embedded in the language of medicine itself.
Aevum carries weight beyond "lifetime." In classical Latin, it can mean an age, an era, even eternity. A patient's medical record is not a snapshot — it is a living document that spans decades, crosses providers, survives institutional changes, and must remain coherent through all of it. The aevum in AEVRUS insists that medical truth is longitudinal. It does not fragment when you change doctors, move states, or switch insurance. It persists.
